it hurts me a lot to see all the changes in wts community.

(hypocrisy, jw.org, property investments).

it hurts me so much, sometimes i want to stop following it.. maybe it's time to say goodbye to it all, protecting me for getting mad.. i have a nice family, wife, kids and everything i wish.

I personally believe that some people are neurologically predisposed to believing in something, anything transcendent. The religion may be false but it is the product of men who want to understand the mysteries of the Cosmos - and fail.

I believe that we should redirect that predisposition into more valid and useful pursuits like understanding science and showing reverence to the (godless) Universe. The Universe is divine, it is sacred. It may not give a damn about us but it is all we have.

As Carl Sagan once said, "We are a way for the Cosmos to know itself". He was a deeply spiritual man whose atheistic reverence for the Universe came out in his Cosmos series. Well worth the watch.

I miss Carl Sagan.

All things considered, when will THE JW religion end?

id give a guess of maybe another 15 to 20 years ,.

nothing will be the same , if there even is a headquarters.. opinion?.

When or if they're gone will probably depend on the world situation in the future. Religion loves misery - it strengthens the faithful. I believe the world, and that includes the United States, is going to get worse in the decades to come and that will reinforce the Witnesses and similar religions.

I just had a thought about the new KH design

i've been trying to figure out the purpose of the new (bland, commercial style) building that the gb is pushing.

it is not a design that attracts attention, nor does it offer a lot in future resale value.

it will be more difficult to build than the wood residential style buildings, meaning they can't use their cheap unskilled labor force for a lot of the work.

I understand that upwards of 75% left during the Rutherford power struggles. It might actually be good for them to lose the 'weak' ones leaving only the diehards who will blindly obey any order.

I think that the Governing Body is making the changes that they are in order to perpetuate the religion. In my opinion they sensed that there was a general malaise in their members and hired a PR man to help them combat this. Everything new that they're doing probably comes from him/them. They're in the process of reinventing themselves and they may perhaps succeed.

I'm glad he heard what John said about other Witnesses saying they saw the light after hearing him. Should be an encouragement.

in effect this is exactly what the the goal of gene therapy is.

it is anticipated that gene therapy techniques will prevent many genetically based diseases in humans.
